2012-13 (junior): First Team All-GLVC honoree... selected to All-GLVC Defensive Team... named GLVC Player of the Week February 18... led team with 13.5 points and 9.7 rebounds per game... pulled down 253 rebounds, which is fifth best in program single season history... 9.7 rebounds per game led the GLVC... also averaged 1.3 steals and 1.2 assists per game, while shooting 49.3 percent from the floor... tallied 20 blocked shots... registered nine double-doubles... had five 20-plus scoring games, including a career-best 29 points in win over Culver Stockton, in which she also grabbed 15 rebounds... recorded 21 points and 11 rebounds in win at Missouri S&T... collected 16 rebounds and 14 points in win at Rockhurst, while adding four steals, three blocks and two assists.
2011-12 (sophomore): All-GLVC Defensive Team... started 22 of 27 games... second on team in scoring with 11.4 points per game... team leader in rebounds (8.4 rpg) and blocked shots (22)... 226 rebounds on the season ranks eighth on the single season charts... connected on 44.9 percent from the field, while also recording 24 steals... recorded eight double-doubles... pulled down 20 rebounds at Indianapolis, the third best single game total in program history, while also finishing with 19 points... recorded 17 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots against McKendree... scored season-high 21 points in collegiate debut at St. Edwards... named tournament MVP of the St. Edwards Classic after averaging 17 points, nine rebounds, 2.5 assists,
1.5 steals and 2.0 blocks per game in two contests.
Before UMSL: Spent one season each at Saint Louis University and Mineral Area College... averaged 7.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game as a sophomore at MAC.
High School: Four-year letterwinner at Kirkwood for head coach Ron Sanford... averaged 19.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, 2.4 blocks and 2.0 assists per game as a senior en route to earning first team all-state honors... named the Suburban West Player of the Year... tabbed to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s second team all-metro and was a McDonald’s All-American nominee... graduated with a school-record 204 blocked shots and was second in career points (1,339) and career rebounds (855)... earned first team all-conference honors as a junior... once scored 41 points in a high school contest... an all-around standout athlete, Smith was a four-year letterwinner in track and field, a two-year letterwinner in volleyball and lettered once each in soccer and softball... was the state runner-up in the high jump as a junior.
Personal: Born October 30... daughter of Robert and Stacey Thompson and Joyce Smith... majoring in social work and criminal justice with a minor in psychology.
