Biography

2014 (junior): Made five appearances and one start... collected win in 3.1 innings against Ashland.

Before UMSL:  Played one season at Three Rivers Community College and one season at Mineral Area College… at Three Rivers, was 5-2 with a 3.58 ERA, while striking out 48 batters in 50.1 innings… at Mineral Area, was 2-1 with a 3.67 ERA, while striking out 15 batters in 27 innings.

High School:  Three-year letterwinner at St. Francis Borgia, where he was an honorable mention all-state selection… also earned first team all-district and third team all-metro honors… posted a 6-1 record with a 1.26 ERA, recording 67 strikeouts… helped team to a 2011 district championship.

Personal:  Born June 17… son of Dan and Karen Piontek… majoring in physical education.
