Brennan Fontenot is entering his second year with the Tritons as a volunteer assistant coach. He will serve as the assistant pitching coach, catching coach, and have a big part in the recruiting efforts.
 
A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Fontenot played baseball at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. While at Spring Hill, he earned his Bachelor of Science in International Studies. On the field, Fontenot was a three time All-SIAC catcher, 2019 SIAC Tournament MVP, and played in the 2019 NCAA Tournament in the Tampa regional.
 
Following his playing career, he completed his Juris Doctorate and Diploma of Comparative Law at LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center. From 2020-2022, he worked and studied biomechanical training methods and techniques at Frazier Hall Baseball Academy in Baton Rouge. From 2021-2022, he coached varsity baseball at Liberty Magnet High School in Baton Rouge.
 
Fontenot lives with his wife Clare, a native of St. Louis and a speech pathologist.
