2017 Second Team All-GLVC
2017 (senior): Earned Second Team All-GLVC honors... made nine starts, posting a 5-3 record and a 4.85 ERA... led the team with 53 strikeouts... tossed complete game shutout in 5-0 win over Rockhurst, striking out eight and allowing just four hits which helped him garner GLVC Pitcher of the Week honors... struck out a season-high nine in second game of the season against Saint Joseph's... allowed just one run on seven hits, while striking out eight in win over Bellarmine... Academic All-GLVC.
2016 (junior): Started 10 games, posting a 5-3 record and a 5.37 ERA... second on team with 44 srikeouts in 60.1 innings... limited opponents to .274 batting... struck out 10 in win against William Jewell, working 7.2 innings and allowing four runs on four hits... fanned eight in seven innings to record win over Illinois Springfield, surrendering just two earned runs.
2015 (sophomore): Made 21 starts in 26 apppearances in the field... had five appearances on the mound... recorded 16 hits, including five doubles... scored 12 runs... in loss to William Jewell, finished with two hits in two at-bats, including a double, which drove in one of two RBIs... recorded a game-tying RBI single in seventh inning in win at Rockhurst, finishing with two hits and two runs scored... crossed the plate three times in win at Illinois Springfield...
picked up the win in his first career appearance on the mound at McKendree in 6.2 innings of relief works, striking out seven, while scattering four hits and walking three in allowing just one run... also struck out seven in loss to Maryville... named Academic All-GLVC.
2014: Sat out with injury.
2013: Redshirted.
High School: Four-year letterwinner at Brentwood High School… three-time first team all-South Central Athletic Association honoree… named SCAA Player of the Year as a senior… was a second team all-SCAA selection as a freshman, while also being named Rookie of the Year.
Summer League: Played for SLABA SW Stars… was league Pitcher of the Year and team MVP.
Personal: Born December 2… son of Bob and Pat Smith… has an undergraduate degree in criminal justice... working towards a master's degree in higher education with a minor in history.
