Nixon is in his first year after spending the past two seasons at the University of Oklahoma where he was a graduate assistant with the Sooners.

Nixon played collegiately at Minnesota State appearing in 101 games with 38 starts. He averaged nearly 20 minutes per contest scoring 375 points, grabbing 330 rebounds and distributing 146 assists. In his sophomore season, Nixon started all 30 games for the Mavericks averaging 5.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.

Nixon, a native of Oak Park, Ill., was a regular starter for the Fenwick High School boys basketball team for four years. He was a team captain for two seasons and helped guide Fenwick to a Catholic League championship as a junior, en route to an appearance in the Class 4A sectional championship. As a junior, Nixon ranked first on the team in rebounds averaging 6.1 per game and also ranked second on the team in assists and third in both scoring and steals.
