Scott Gauthier

Scott Gauthier enters his sixth season as an assistant men’s basketball coach on Bob Sundvold’s staff with the 2021-22 year.

Gauthier aided Sundvold and the Tritons in recording back-to-back 20-win seasons, including a program-best 27-6 mark in 2019-20. UMSL garnered the program's first NCAA Tournament bid that season after clinching a share of the GLVC regular season title.

During the 2018-19 season, the 20-9 record, marking the program's first 20-win season since 1990-91, and finished 11-7 in GLVC play.
 
Gauthier came to UMSL from Webster Groves High School, where he spent nine years as a varsity assistant under Jay Blossom.
 
During his time at Webster Groves, Gauthier helped the Statesmen to a 218-41 (.930) record, which included nine Suburban South Conference championships, three district championships, two state quarterfinal appearances and the 2008 Missouri Class 5 state championship.
 
Gauthier has also spent the past year serving as Director of Basketball Operations for Pure Sweat Basketball as well as an adjunct instructor for the Saint Louis University John Cook School of Business.
 
His professional work experience includes Community Outreach Intern for Saint Louis University Community Relations (2014-15), Director of Accounting and Special Projects for The Lacledge Group (2013-14), Assistant Controller/Controller for Bakers Footwear Group (2006-2013), Internal Audit Manager at UGS Corporation (2005-06), Internal Audit Senior at Sara Lee Corporation (2002-05) and Assurance and Advisory Services Auditor at Deloitte & Touche, LLP.
 
A member of the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association, Gauthier earned his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Masters of Accountancy from the University of Missouri in 2000 and received his Master of Business Administration from Saint Louis University in 2015.
