COACHING EXPERIENCE
  • Enters his 17th season with the men’s golf program and his 16th as the program’s head coach with the 2024-25 year.
  • He also enters his 10th year overseeing the women’s program after being named Director of Golf Operations in October 2015.
  • In 1998, began working as a club professional. He has spent time in Hilton Head Island, S.C. and Kansas City. In the Kansas City area he was assistant professional at Wolf Creek Golf Club and Kansas City Country Club. He spent 2007-08 as the Head Professional at Oakwood Country Club in Kansas City.

  • Four-time GLVC Coach of the Year (2022, 2016, 2015, 2011)
  • Four-time GCAA Midwest Region Coach of the Year (2015, 2014, 2013, 2011)
  • Finalist for the Dave Williams National Coach of the Year Award in 2016
COACHING HIGHLIGHTS
  • Has guided the Tritons to national prominence, leading the program to six NCAA Championship appearances, including the 2012-13 and 2021-22 seasons when they tied for fifth place, marking the program’s highest finish.
  • The team also advanced to the NCAA Championships in 2018-19 (10th place), 2017-18 (13th place), 2014-15 (12th place) and 2010-11 (15th place).
  • Under his tutelage, UMSL has made 12 NCAA Regional Tournament appearances and won 35 team titles, including a school record six during the 2015-16 year.
  • Has led UMSL to three GLVC Championships (2015, 2016, 2022), while his teams have advanced to match play in all 10 years.
  • His 2018-19 team made its second straight NCAA Championships appearance, where they placed 10th. The team recorded nine top-four finishes, including first in stroke play at the Championships and second at the NCAA Midwest/Central Regional.
  • The 2017-18 team returned to the NCAA Championships after a two-year absence, earning a 13th place finish. They earned six top-five finishes during the year and advanced to the Tournament match play for the fifth straight year.
  • His 2016-17 team set a single season record with a scoring average of 291.25, winning four tournaments en route to garnering the top seed in the NCAA Regional Tournament.
  • The 2015-16 team won a school record six tournament titles, including their second straight GLVC championship.
  • The 2014-15 season saw guide the Tritons to a 12th place finish at the NCAA Championships and the program’s first-ever Championship with a 3-2 win over Lewis in match play.

  • Coached Markus Lindberg who shot a round of 60 during the 2016-17 season, becoming just the 10th collegiate player to do so.
  • Coached junior Joe Atkisson to a individual title, the program’s first, in 2013.
  • Coached Joel Sylven to an NCAA individual title, the program's first in 2022.
PLAYING EXPERIENCE
  • Played collegiately at Oklahoma State from 1991-1993 and at Kansas State from 1993-1996.
  • While playing at Oklahoma State, he had the opportunity to learn from legendary golf coach, Mike Holder, who has won 10 NCAA Championships.
  • At Kansas State, was a First Team All-Big 8 selection and twice was named an All-American Scholar. He was also a three-time Academic All-Big 8 honoree.
  • Spent 12 years in competitive golf, where he had an accomplished professional career. After graduating college, he played professionally on the Prairie Tour, Hooters Tour and Golden Bear Tour. He also played in the PGA Tour qualifying tournament.
  • Since becoming a PGA professional in 2001 he continued to compete in PGA sectional tournaments in both the Midwest and Gateway sections. He qualified for five National PGA Assistant Professional Championships and two National PGA Club Professional Championships.
  • During his time as a club professional, won numerous section and national PGA events. He was awarded the 2007 Presidents Plaque by the Midwest Section PGA for his contributions to player development and growth of the game.
  • He regained his amateur status in May 2013.
EDUCATION
  • Graduated from Kansas State in 1995 with a bachelor of science in journalism.
