Addison Purvis is in her first year as assistant coach at UMSL.
She played Division I softball for four years with her first two years at Mississippi State before transferring to Kansas for her final two seasons.
During her junior year with the Jayhawks she pitched a complete game no-hitter in five innings against Texas Southern. In the circle, Purvis produced the second-best ERA for a Jayhawk (2.90) in 18 appearances. In 41 innings pitched, she allowed 17 earned runs and 22 walks, while striking out 26 batters and finished the season with a record of 6-2.
As a sophomore at Mississippi State, she was named the SEC Co-Player of the Week after hitting .750 across three starts and posted a 1.875 slugging percentage. She drove in seven runs with three doubles and a pair of home runs. Purvis produced 22 hits and three home runs in 74 at-bats in 2022 and finished the season with a batting average of .297.
A native of Sullivan, Mo., Purvis was a four-year letterwinner at Sullivan High School. She was selected to STLToday's Missouri All-Decade Second Team, was the Four Rivers Conference Player of the Year for senior, junior and sophomore seasons, was a four-time First Team All-State, All-Conference, All-District and All-Region selection, was All-Area Player of the Year in 2017 and 2018, All-Metro Pitcher of the Year (2018) and First Team All-Metro (2017).
