Former Triton centerfielder Monica Strube enters her first season as an assistant coach for the UMSL softball program.

Strube was a two-year starter for the Tritons after transferring from Eastern Illinois. As a senior last season, she had just one error in 50 games, while recording 59 putouts.

During her junior campaign with UMSL, she started all 51 games and batted .275 with 41 hits, 20 runs scored and nine RBIs.

While at Eastern Illinois, Strube saw action in eight games as a sophomore and during her freshman season, she came off the bench in 33 games, including 29 as a pinch-runner. Strube was also a member of the Panthers diving team.

A native of Lemont, Ill., Strube is completing a degree in physical education.
