DJ Slifer enters his second season as a women’s basketball assistant coach.
He came to UMSL following two years as the graduate manager at Indiana State. He spent his first year with the Sycamores as the director of operations before taking on the role of video coordinator last season.
Slifer came to Terre Haute following a four-year playing career at Central Missouri from 2009-13. During his time with the Mules, he helped the program to an 86-31 overall record, four-consecutive MIAA conference championships and three Division II NCAA tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2010.
Slifer graduated from Warrensburg High School where he was a three-time all-conference and two-time all-district selection. He ranks 11th all-time in the state of Missouri in assists.
Slifer graduated from UCM in 2012 with a degree in sports management and was a two-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll selection. He earned his master’s degree in sport management at Indiana State.
