Dick Halterman is in his seventh year as an assistant coach golf under his son Troy.
A women's basketball coaching veteran of 32 years, Halterman came to UMSL after serving as the pro shop manager at Rotonda Golf Club (2011-16). He previously also worked as general manager of the Lawton Country Club (2007-08).
An avid golfer, Halterman has five career hole-in-ones.
On the basketball sidelines, he served as head coach at Cameron University from 2002-06; at Oklahoma State from 1983-2002, where he guided the Cowgirls to three Big 8 titles (two tournament and one regular season), posting a record of 350-244(.589) with 11 postseason appearances; at Moberly Junior College, where he teams were both national champions and national runner-ups; and at Wheeling (Mo.) High School from 1974-78, where he had a state championship and a third place finish.
