Lauren McDonnell enters her first season as an assistant coach on Bobby Lessentine’s staff during the 2013 season.
 
The former Lauren Bozesky also serves as the junior varsity soccer coach at St. Joseph’s Academy High School, a position she has held since 2012, and has traveled and assisted varsity coach Maureen McVey in the state tournaments in 2012 and 2013. She became an assistant coach for a U-12 J.B. Marine team in 2012 and helped coach the team to its first state championship in 2013.  
           
Since 2008, McDonnell has worked and ran soccer camps for several clubs in the Missouri area including J.B. Marine, St. Louis Scott Gallagher, Lou Fusz, and Jackson Soccer Club (Jackson, Missouri). She has trained J.B. Marine teams since 2006 and was listed as a club trainer in 2012. She has also done private training for Kolping Kicks Soccer Club (2009-2011). 
 
McDonnell is a 2010 graduate of Saint Louis University, earning a B.A. in American Studies. She was a four-year member of the Billikens women’s soccer team (2006-10), earning Goal of the Year in 2006 and was on the Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll every academic year.
 
After being plagued with injury and receiving medical red-shirts during her last two seasons at Saint Louis, McDonnell was offered a scholarship to play soccer and earn her Master’s in Higher Education at Southeast Missouri State University.
 
During the 2010 season at SEMO, she was tabbed to the Ohio Valley Conference All-Rookie Team and was chosen as Top Drawer's Soccer’s Top Twenty Players in the league. In the 2011 season, McDonnell earned a spot on the Ohio Valley’s First Team All-Conference, was nominated for Female Athlete of the Year, led the team to a regular season conference championship and was selected as an Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week during the season. 
 
Academically, McDonnell earned the honor of having the highest female student-athlete GPA in the Ohio Valley Conference in 2011, was on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 2010 and 2011, and was a Southeast Missouri State University Medal of Honor recipient in 2010 and 2011 for carrying a 4.0 GPA.
