Before UMSL: Redshirted first year at Kirkwood Community College before transferring to Highland Community College… at Highland, helped team to regional and conference championships and appearances in the national tournament… started all 33 games as a sophomore, averaging 13.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 55.9 percent from the field… as a freshman, averaged 12.2 points per game… shot 59.4 percent from the field and also averaged 4.0 rebounds per game.
 
High School: Prepped at Wahlert Catholic, where he guided the Golden Eagles to state championships as a junior and a senior… two-time Iowa Class 3A Second Team All-State selection… two-time first team all-conference and first team all-city honoree… averaged 18.5 points, eight rebounds and five assists per game as a senior… set school's free throws attempted and made record… averaged 17.5 points as a junior.
