Luke Rinne is in his third year as the Assistant Athletics Director for Communications at UMSL but is no stranger to the Great Lakes Valley Conference having previously worked at GLVC rivals Missouri S&T and Lewis.
Rinne began his career at Webster University spending one year as the Sports Information Coordinator for the Gorloks. He oversaw all the communication efforts for the university's athletic programs.
He then moved onto to Missouri S&T where he spent nine and a half years as the Assistant Sports Information Director for the Miners. He was the primary contact for men's golf, softball, women's basketball, women's soccer and volleyball. In addition to his duties he served as play-by-play voice for road contests for women's basketball and select men's basketball games. Rinne also oversaw the department's streaming operations with the GLVC Sports Network.
He spent the last four and half years at Lewis University as the Director of Athletics Communications. In that role he was the primary contact for the university's 25 sports and was the department's spokesperson. During his tenure, he hosted four conference championships and two regionals.
Rinne is an avid sports fan cheering for the Cardinals, Blues and Kansas City Chiefs.
He resides in University City.
