Langella begins his third year as Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities and Game Management in 2024-25. He oversees all of UMSL's athletic facilities and is in charge of game management.
Prior to joining the athletic department, he spent a year on the UMSL campus working as the Assistant Director of Recreation Programs at the Recreation and Wellness Center. He planned, oversaw and facilitated the Intramural sports programming, coordinated and managed Summer Camp programming, was responsible for policies and procedures for designated areas and planned, scheduled and assigned staff for all areas of responsibility.
Langella was also responsible for recruiting, training and evaluating staff for all areas of responsibility as well as evaluate performance and program effectiveness.
Prior to coming to UMSL, he spent nearly three years as the Sports and Recreation Manager at the Jewish Community Center (JCC). Langella planned, oversaw and facilitated both the Youth Sports Leagues and the Adult Basketball Leagues. He also served as the liaison between the JCC and two Taekwondo organizations.
Langella was also the head official for the Youth Basketball League for rule clarification and disputes, served as the main instructor for the youth sports programming, hired and trained youth sports staff and served as the assistant director for J Day camps. He also assisted in special programs/special events such as an annual St. Louis Senior Olympics.
Langella spent a year as the Recreation Program Specialist for the City of Olivette where he assisted in planning, overseeing and facilitating youth and adult sports. He was responsible for general field maintenance and facility, assisting in league/team practice and game schedule creation, assist in daily communication with facility maintenance crews and oversaw and facilitated the Adult Co-Ed Softball League.
Langella began his career as the recreation supervisor for the Sports, Warrensburg Parks and Recreation. He planned, oversaw and facilitated youth, adult and senior sports leagues. Langella completed league/team game and practice schedules, facilitated all sports facility rentals and hired and scheduled staff/officials for sports leagues, programs and concessions. He also worked with the University of Central Missouri Sports Management department to provide comprehensive internship opportunities.
Langella received his bachelor's degree in sport management from the University of Central Missouri and is working on his master's degree in sport administration from Arkansas State.
