Jessie Chandler joined the UMSL Athletics Department as Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance and Senior Women's Administrator in August 2009. In January 2018, she was promoted to Associate Director of Athletics/SWA and in December 2023, she was promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Director.
In her role, Chandler is the Department of Athletics' liaison on national letters of intent, academics, financial aid, scholarships, residential life and conduct matters, while ensuring all units comply with University, Conference and NCAA compliance regulations. She has sport oversight of men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s soccer, and volleyball, while also serving on the University’s Partners in Prevention committee and as an Equity Resolution Hearing Panelist.
Chandler has been involved on numerous GLVC and NCAA committees and is currently serving as the Chair of the NCAA Division II Nominating Committee and as a member of the GLVC Compliance Committee. Past service includes the GLVC Steering, Awards, Strategic Planning, and Scheduling committees, and the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Midwest Regional Advisory Committee.
Chandler’s background includes positions as Assistant Athletic Director and Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Hanover College in Hanover, Ind.; volunteer in compliance at former Great Lakes Valley Conference member Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky.; and Director of Compliance at Arkansas Tech University.
Jessie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Science from DePauw University and a Master of Science in Sports Administration from the University of Louisville. Chandler is a member of the National Association of Athletics Compliance Coordinators (NAAC) and Women Leaders in College Sports.
Chandler, a native of Hanover, Ind., now resides in St. Louis.
