Tyler Sherman joined the UMSL baseball staff for the 2024-25 academic year, working primarily with the Outfielders and Hitters while serving as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach.Â

Sherman came to St. Louis after spending the 2023-2024 season at Sewanee: The University of the South as Baseball’s Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, Outfield and Assistant Hitting Coach. Having helped the Tigers reach the second round of Conference Playoffs for the first time in the program's history, his Outfielders saw career high defensive performances, bringing the group's Fielding Percentage from 0.966 (2023) to 0.983 (2024), as well as having two Outfielders placed in the top 15 fielders in the SAA Conference.

The St. Louis, Mo., native played collegiately at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., from 2020-22, earning Academic All-GLVC honors twice during his time with the Cardinals. The outfielder spent his final collegiate season at Concordia University-Chicago in 2023, garnering NACC Scholar-Athlete accolades.

Sherman participated in the BJC League in 2022, batting .338 in 82 plate appearances with a .410 on-base percentage and .435 slugging percentage.

He earned a bachelor’s in English from William Jewell in 2022 and received an MBA with a focus in Sports Management from Concordia-Chicago in 2024.
