ST. LOUIS – University of Missouri-St. Louis Director of Athletics
Lori Flanagan announced on Wednesday (June 22) that
Cory Wahl has resigned from his position as head baseball coach.
Wahl just finished his fifth season as the head coach at UMSL after joining the Tritons program in the fall of 2017 as an assistant coach. He was named the interim head coach for the 2018 season after the passing of legendary head coach Jim Brady prior to the start of the 2018 season. He was named the fifth coach in program history on May 15, 2018.
Four Tritons earned all-conference honors during his tenure, including three in 2018.
"We thank Coach Wahl for all he's contributed to the UMSL Baseball program, especially taking over after the passing of Coach Brady," Flanagan said. "Under his leadership he established a solid foundation in which we can continue to build and have success. We wish Cory, his wife, and children continued good health and success in their new career endeavors."
"I would first like to thank the UMSL Administration for giving me the opportunity to lead their baseball program for the past five years," Wahl said. "It has been an honor and a privilege being a part of this great University and athletic department, as well as, being able to coach a great group of young men. I wish nothing but the best of luck to everyone and I look forward to maintaining the great relationships I have built over the years."
A search for Wahl's replacement will begin immediately.
