ROLLA, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team ran its win streak to five games with a 1-0 overtime victory at Missouri S&T Friday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference action, courtesy of a Miners own goal.
Missouri S&T put the ball in its own net six minutes into the extra period when an UMSL corner kick went off a Miners defender in front of the net.
The Tritons improve to 6-2 overall with the win, including 5-1 in the GLVC, while Missouri S&T slips to 4-4-1 and 3-4 in the league.
Both teams finished with 10 shots, each landing two on goal. Freshman
Tyler Collico had a team-high two shots, while seven other players took one shot each. Senior
Patrick Ream played all 96 minutes in goal and registered one save, while posting his fifth straight shutout.
UMSL returns to action Sunday, traveling to Springfield, Mo., to face No. 19 ranked Drury at 2:30 p.m.
