The Miners' Ryan Lawhead headed in the ball 5:44 into the overtime period off a corner kick for the game-winner.

With the loss, UMSL slips to 4-6 overall, including 3-5 in the GLVC, while Missouri S&T improves to 5-4-1 and 4-3-1 in the league.

Missouri S&T controlled the first half, outshooting the Tritons, 12-2, and took a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute with a little help from the gusty winds.

UMSL got the equalizer in the 57th minute when sophomore Tyler Collico was fouled just outside the box on the left side. That set up a free kick for freshman Evan Garrad, who sent the ball into the box, where senior Matt Burrus got it to bounce off the crossbar and dropped into the net.

Missouri S&T outshot the Tritons, 18-10, with both teams landing five shots on goal. Collico finished with five attempts for UMSL, placing one on target.
