INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team saw host Indianapolis score three second half goals en route to a 3-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference win on Friday night.
UMSL falls to 9-3-1 overall, including 8-3 in league play, while dropping to third place in the conference standings. UIndy, winners of seven of its last eight games, improves to 7-4-2 overall, including 7-3-1 in the GLVC, while moving into a tie for fourth place in the conference standings.
The Tritons outshot the Greyhounds, 20-18, while both teams placed seven shots on goal.
UIndy broke a scoreless game in the 48
th minute with the eventual game-winner and added insurance goals in the 55
th and 89
th minutes.
Four different UMSL players recorded three shots, including freshman
Nick Werner, who placed all three attempts on goal. Junior
Connor Carnduff also tallied three shots, landing two on target.
UMSL continues its current three-game roadtrip on Sunday, traveling to Saint Joseph's in a 12 p.m. contest.
