RENSSALEAR, IND. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team scored all three of its goals in the second half en route to a 3-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Saint Joseph's on Sunday afternoon.
Junior
Cassie McFadden scored a goal and recorded an assist to lead the offense as the Tritons got back in the win column for the first time in eight games, improving to 6-7-1 overall, including 4-7-1 in the GLVC. Saint Joseph's dips to 1-12-2, including 0-10-2 in the league.
The Pumas took a 1-0 lead in the 27
th minute and held the advantage until junior
Jen Eaton connected off a rebound for the equalizer in the 54
th minute with the assist to junior
Hunter Wagoner.
McFadden then assisted on junior
Katie Rapisardo's game-winner in the 74
th minute before netting an insurance goal in the 83
rd minute for her first tally of the season.
UMSL outshot the Pumas, 17-12, including 7-2 in shots on goal, and owned a 12-7 advantage in the final 45 minutes. McFadden led the squad with five shots, while Rapisardo landed all three of her attempts on goal.
Sophomore
Amanda Shurzinske picked up the win in goal, playing the entire second half.
UMSL travels to Truman State on Friday at 12 p.m. in its final road contest of the season.
