KIRKSVILLE, MO. – Host Truman State found the back of the net with just over five minutes to play to erase a scoreless game en route to a 1-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team on Friday afternoon.
The Bulldogs' Alexis Heffernan connected on the low cross to the center and put it past Tritons keeper
Megan Ohm for the game's only score at the 84:32 mark. Heffernan, the squad's leading scorer, attempted 10 of Truman State's 16 shots.
UMSL slips to 6-8-1 overall, including 4-8-1 in the GLVC, with its fifth 1-0 loss of the season, while Truman State improves to 11-3-1 and 9-2-2 in the league.
The Tritons recorded 10 shots, including three on goal, and owned a 7-6 shots advantage in the opening 45 minutes, while Truman State held a 10-3 edge in the second half.
Junior
Hunter Wagoner recorded four shots, accounting for all three attempts on goal, while Ohm registered four saves, playing all 90 minutes.
UMSL returns home on Sunday to host Quincy at 12 p.m. on Senior Day. Graduating players

Mary Kopsky will all be honored prior to the start of the contest. The Tritons then close out the 2014 season on Wednesday by hosting Maryville.
