ST. LOUIS, MO. – Sophomore
Jory Siebenmorgen tied a career-high 15 kills to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Missouri S&T on Friday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference action. The Tritons won by set scores of 25-21, 16-25, 25-22, 25-22.
Siebenmorgen was one of three Tritons to reach double digit kills with senior
Allie Ewing and junior
Carly Ochs adding 12 and 11, respectively.
UMSL snapped a five-match losing streak to Missouri S&T with the win and also avenged an earlier 3-1 loss to the Miners this season. The Tritons improve to 8-5 overall, including 5-3 in the GLVC, while Missouri S&T slips to 8-7 and 5-3 in the league.
The Tritons recorded 20 kills in the set one victory and finished with 61 in the match, hitting .223, while Missouri S&T hit .247 and tallied 58 kills.
Siebenmorgen registered six of her kills in the decisive fourth set, while UMSL posted four of its seven blocks in that frame. Freshman
Kristen Uradzionek led the Tritons with four blocks off the bench, playing in the final two sets, while Ewing added three blocks.
Junior
Lindsay Meyer dished out 27 assists and added 15 digs, while senior
Emily Bragaw finished with 18 digs.
UMSL is back in action tomorrow, hosting Drury.
