ROLLA, MO. – Missouri S&T scored the game's lone goal in the third minute to help the Miners to a 1-0 win over the visiting University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team on Friday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
The Tritons lost despite outshooting the Miners, 11-9, including 8-4 in shots on goal. UMSL fired nine shots in the final 45 minutes of play, placing six on target, but couldn't get the ball past Missouri S&T keeper Kaitlyn Deister, who registered eight saves.
UMSL falls to 5-4 overall, including 3-4 in the GLVC, while Missouri S&T moves its ledger to 3-6 and 3-4 in the league.
