Kelly Kunkel scored a career-high 18 points and added seven rebounds and four assists to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team to its first win of the season, a 67-30 victory over the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras on Saturday afternoon.
Kunkel tied her previous career-high of 14 points in the first half as the Tritons took a 37-18 lead into the intermission, scoring 21 of those points off Rio Piedras turnovers.

Hayley Alexander added eight points each, while all 15 players saw at least six minutes of playing time with 12 getting into the scoring column.
UMSL shot 37.7 percent from the field and owned a commanding 54-26 rebounding advantage, including a 26-6 edge on the offensive end. The Tritons outscored their opponents, 24-5, in second chance points. Redshirt freshman
Jordan Fletcher pulled down a team-high nine caroms.
UMSL improves to 1-1 overall and returns to action at home on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 21-22 when it hosts the Triton Classic. The Tritons will host Lincoln on Friday at 7 p.m. and Minnesota State at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
