Box Score 2 ST. LOUIS, MO. – Junior
Zach Sedlacek tossed a complete game with nine strikeouts, helping the University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team to a 2-1 victory in the second of two games against Quincy on Saturday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
The visiting Hawks won the opener, 11-2, and won the series by taking three of four games.
UMSL snapped a six-game losing streak with the win and moves to 14-16 overall, including 12-10 in the GLVC, while Quincy moves to 15-18 and 11-10 in the league.
Junior
Shane Brinker paced the offense on the day, recording three hits, all of which were doubles.
The Tritons return to action on Wednesday, traveling to Maryville for a GLVC doubleheader set to begin at 4 p.m.
Game 1: Quincy 11, UMSL 2 (7 innings)Quincy belted out 14 hits and used an early 9-0 lead after two innings, including a seven-run second, to garner the win.
UMSL got on the board in the fifth inning with
Daniel Seddon's RBI single, while freshman
Jake Beckwith delivered a seventh inning pinch hit homerun.

Alan Frank suffered his first loss of the season, allowing seven runs on five hits in one and one-thirds of an inning.
Six different players had one hit each for the Tritons.

Paul Richmond used a single to drive in junior
Jose Ortiz and later scored the game-winner after a Hawks error.
Richmond finished 2-for-3 at the plate, while Brinker was also 2-for-3, tallying two doubles. Quincy tallied nine hits to UMSL's five.
Sedlacek improve to 2-1 on the mound behind his career-high nine strikeouts.
