QUINCY, ILL. – Sophomore
Gina Pezze recorded 13 kills without committing an error and added nine digs to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team to a 25-17, 25-14, 25-13 win at Quincy on Saturday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
The Tritons hit .330 as a team with senior
Jessica Ploss and
Lexi Rogers hitting .500 and .467, respectively, each tallying eight kills.
UMSL improves to 8-11 overall, including 4-5 in the GLVC, while Quincy slips to 9-10 and 4-5 in the league.
Senior
Lindsay Meyer directed the offense with 38 assists and added 13 digs, while senior
Erin Walker registered 21 digs.
Pezze tallied six of her kills in the first set as the Tritons recorded 18 kills, while Ploss recorded five in set two in six swings without an error. Rogers put down four kills in the third set in five attempts.
UMSL returns to action next weekend, traveling to the Midwest Region Crossover in Aurora, Ill. Opponents and game times will be announced later tonight.
