KANSAS CITY, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team held No. 22 ranked Rockhurst to just one goal, but came up short in a 1-0 loss to the Hawks on Sunday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
The Hawks headed home the game-winner in the 59
th minute as the Tritons slip to 5-5-2 overall, including 4-4-2 in the GLVC. Rockhurst improves its ledger to 8-1-2, including 8-1-1 in the league.
UMSL was limited to just two shots on goal – one by senior
Jon Huelsman and the other by senior
Connor Carnduff - and finished with 10 shots, while Rockhurst totaled 15 shots, placing five on goal. Junior
Jack Filla played all 90 minutes in goal, making four saves, while Huelsman took a team-high four shots.
UMSL will wrap up its current four-game roadtrip next weekend with games at McKendree on Friday and at Illinois Springfield on Saturday.
