Delgado’s First Half Goal Holds as Women’s Soccer Wins at McKendree, 1-0

LEBANON, ILL. – Junior Kayla Delgado scored the game's only goal, helping the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team to a 1-0 win at McKendree on Friday night, as the Tritons recorded their eighth straight win.
 
Delgado notched her fifth tally of the season in the 23rd minute, shooting from 20 yards out on the right side into the deep left corner. The Tritons stole the ball on their end of the field off a Bearcats throw in to set up the game-winner.
 
UMSL improves to 10-1-2 overall, extending its unbeaten streak to 10 games and is now 8-1-2 in the GLVC. McKendree falls to 6-5-3 overall and 5-4-2 in the league.
 
The two teams combined for just five shots on goal, with three coming from the Tritons. The Bearcats held a 14-7 shots advantage and a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
 
Delgado took five shots for UMSL, placing two on goal, while senior Megan Ohm made two saves in goal.

The Tritons wrap up a five-game road swing at Illinois Springfield on Sunday.
