ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team played to a 2-2 double overtime draw with No. 19 Bellarmine on Friday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
In a battle of the top two defenses in the GLVC, the Tritons and Knights each allowed two goals in the opening 45 minutes of play, but lived up to the defensive hype the remainder of the contest.
UMSL moves to 10-1-4 overall, including 8-1-4 in the GLVC, extending its unbeaten streak to 12 games, while Bellarmine maintains its hold atop the league standings at 13-1-2 and 10-1-2 in the GLVC.
The Tritons struck first, scoring three minutes into the contest on junior
Kayla Delgado's shot from 25 yards out to the far corner of the net with senior
Kali Thomas being credited with the assist and took a 2-1 lead in the 25
th minute on freshman
McKayla Harder's ninth goal of the season. Harder took the give and go from senior
Sidney Allen and
Miriam Taylor and shot it past Knights goalie Taylor Smith, who entered the contest having allowed just four goals.
Bellarmine countered each goal by the Tritons, tying it in the 10
th minute on a shot from the left side to the far corner from Knights leading scorer Mary Beth Gorham and then successfully converted a penalty kick in the 34
th minute to make it 2-2.
UMSL held a 13-11 advantage in shots, including an 8-5 edge in shots on goal. Allen placed a shot on goal with 21 seconds to play, but it was stopped by Smith. Harder and Delgado each took three shots, all landing on goal.

Megan Ohm played all 110 minutes in goal, recording three saves, including a game-saving stop in the 81
st minute on a point blank shot by Gorham from 10 yards out.
UMSL will play its final regular season home game on Sunday, hosting Southern Indiana. Prior to the contest, the Tritons will honor their 11 seniors.
