ST. LOUIS, MO. – Visiting Southern Indiana handed the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team a 2-1 setback on Sunday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference, ending the Tritons' 12-game unbeaten streak.
UMSL lost for only the second time this season, falling to 10-2-4 overall, including 8-2-4 in the GLVC. The loss also drops the Tritons to fourth place in the conference standings with one final game to be played at Maryville on Wednesday and spoiled Senior Day in which UMSL honored its 11 graduating players prior to the contest, including

Kali Thomas,
Jessica Mincher,

Laura Hurlbut,
Kelly McGovern and
Jaylon Griffith.
Things didn't go UMSL's way from the start as Southern Indiana (5-9-2, 4-9-1 GLVC) scored 8:29 into the contest, netting a goal on a free kick from Kelsey Smith with the shot slipping through the hands of Tritons keeper
Megan Ohm.
Ohm was then issued a red card five minutes later for the playing the ball with her hands outside the penalty area, forcing UMSL to play a player down the remainder of the contest. The Tritons also lost senior midfielder
Laura Hurlbut to an injury midway through the first half.
Southern Indiana added an insurance goal 2:26 into the second half, but the Tritons refused to go away, outshooting the Screaming Eagles, 15-4, in the final half, and finally getting on the board in the 84
th minute off the foot of senior
Kali Thomas, who took the short pass in the box from junior
Kayla Delgado.
UMSL took 20 shots in the contest, placing 13 on goal, including all five attempts from Delgado. However, Southern Indiana keeper Jacki Lohmann, playing in just her third contest this season, recorded 12 saves to stop the attacking Tritons.
The Screaming Eagles finished with eight shots, placing five on goal. Freshman
McKenzie DeRouen made three saves, playing the final 76:02 in goal.
