ROLLA, MO. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team suffered a pair of losses on Saturday, including a 3-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference setback at Missouri S&T and a 3-2 loss to Southern Arkansas in nonconference action.

The Tritons slip to 6-10 overall, including 2-4 in the GLVC, and return to action Tuesday, hosting Maryville.

Missouri S&T 3, UMSL 1 For the second straight outing, the Tritons won the opening set, but saw its opponent come back for the win. UMSL posted a 25-22 win in the opening frame, but saw the Miners take the match with set wins of 25-23, 25-22, 25-23.
Sophomore
Gina Pezze tied a career-best 14 kills and added career-highs of 19 digs and three service aces to pace the Tritons, while senior
Jessica Ploss and freshman
Maddy Russell added 12 kills each. UMSL hit .181 as a team, but Ploss connected at a .524 mark, committing just one error in 21 swings. She also tallied four blocks, while Russell added 10 digs to join Pezze with a double-double.
Senior
Lindsay Meyer and sophomore
Madyson Abeyta dished out 24 and 20 assists, respectively.
Missouri S&T hit .199 and held a 10-7 blocking advantage, winning its fifth straight to improve to 11-5 overall, including 4-2 in the GLVC.

Southern Arkansas 3, UMSL 2Ploss recorded a career-best 17 kills and hit .412 with only three errors in 34 attacks, but it wasn't enough to help the Tritons. Southern Arkansas won by set scores of 18-25, 25-19, 23-25, 25-23, 15-12 in a match that saw 23 ties and nine lead changes.

Ploss recorded 14 of her kills in the final three sets, including five each in sets three and four.

Pezze and junior
Lexi Rogers added 12 kills each with Pezze notching her second double-double of the day with 11 digs.

As a team, the Tritons hit .226 to Southern Arkansas' .211. UMSL was hampered at the serving line, committing 12 service errors, while the Muleriders had 10, but recorded five service aces.

Meyer dished out 44 assists and added 15 digs, while freshman
Alivia Brinker tallied 22 digs.
