ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team closed out a four-match homestand with a 25-10, 25-15, 25-19 win over Illinois Springfield on Saturday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
The Tritons hit .213 en route to the win, improving to 12-14 overall, including 6-7 in the GLVC, while Illinois Springfield dips to 5-21 and 2-11 in the league.
Defensively, UMSL limited the Prairie Stars to .0313 hitting and 22 kills, including just five in the set one victory.
Senior
Hannah Miller led the offense with 12 kills, hitting .300, while freshman
Maddy Russell tallied 11 kills. Senior
Lindsay Meyer dished out 34 assists and added 13 digs, while senior
Erin Walker finished with 15 digs.
Illinois Springfield held an 8-5 advantage in blocks. Senior
Jessica Ploss recorded three blocks for UMSL.
The Tritons are on the road for their next four matches, beginning Friday at Bellarmine.
