ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team lost a 2-0 decision to visiting Missouri S&T on Sunday afternoon in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest.
The two teams entered the day in a six-way tie for fourth place in the league standings. UMSL slips to 4-4-2 overall, including 3-3-2 in the GLVC with the loss, while Missouri S&T is now 5-5 and 5-3 in the league.
Both Miner goals came in the second half, including one in the 48
th minute and an insurance score in the 80
th minute.
Missouri S&T held an 18-10 advantage in shots, including an 11-3 edge in shots on goal. Senior
Tyler Collico took six of those shots with two landing on target.
Junior keeper
Jack Filla faced 18 shots, playing all 90 minutes between the posts. He allowed both goals and made a season-high nine saves.
UMSL opens a four-game roadtrip on Friday at William Jewell.
