ST. LOUIS, MO. – Five different players scored to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team to a 5-1 victory over Missouri S&T on Sunday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
The win was the fourth straight for UMSL, which improves to 6-1-2 overall, including 5-1-2 in the GLVC, while Missouri S&T dips to 1-8-1 and 0-7-1 in the league.
The Tritons scored at least four goals for the third straight outing and the fifth time this season.
Four different players – seniors
Sidney Allen and
Hunter Wagoner, junior
Miriam Taylor and freshman
McKayla Harder each contributed a goal and an assist.
With just over eight minutes played, Allen successfully converted a penalty kick for the 1-0 lead. Allen put the ball into the left corner of the net as Lady Miners goalie Carrie Levy dove the opposite way.
Taylor made it 2-0 in the 17
th minute scoring her team-leading seventh goal. Allen and fellow Wagoner took the ball down the middle of the field, passing it up Taylor on the right side, who put it past Levy coming out of her position.
Wagoner then got in the scoring column nearly seven minutes later one-timing it into the back of the net off passes from Taylor and Harder.

Kali Thomas made it a 4-0 advantage in the 39
th minute, shooting into the open net off a pass up the middle from sophomore
Brooke Blasingame.
UMSL added one goal in the second half when Harder took senior
Cassie McFadden's long cross into the box and shot it into the right corner of the net.
The Tritons took 30 shots, placing 18 on target, while defensively, limited the Lady Miners to five shots. Senior
Megan Ohm made two saves in 58:39 in goal, while freshman
McKenzie DeRouen played the final 31:21 in goal, allowing the lone Lady Miners goal in the 76
th minute.
Harder, Taylor and Wagoner all took four shots each with Harder and Taylor placing three each on goal.
UMSL will begin a five-game roadtrip on Tuesday with a nonconference contest at Oakland City before resuming GLVC play at William Jewell on Friday.
