Perryman Becomes All-Time Wins Leader as Softball Tops Saginaw Valley, 10-2

ROSEMONT, ILL. – Junior Hannah Perryman picked up her 59th career victory, becoming the program's all-time wins leader, as the No. 5 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team recorded its 10th straight win on Sunday with a 10-2 six-inning victory over Saginaw Valley at the D2 Midwest Region Dome Invitational, hosted by Lewis.

Perryman struck out a season-high 15 as the Tritons improve to 13-1.

Offensively, UMSL out-hit the Cardinals, 12-7, with senior Katie Wood going 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and two runs scored. Freshman Jennah Perryman added two hits and three RBIs, while sophomore Sara Kern tallied two doubles and scored two runs. Senior Jena Boudreau added three RBIs on a double. The Tritons finished with five doubles as a team.

Saginaw Valley (2-3) put an early run on the board in the first inning with a solo homerun, while sophomore Alex Stupek countered in the bottom of the frame with a long ball of her own.

Boudreau's three-run double made it 4-1 in the second, while two runs crossed the plate in the third, courtesy of a Kern double and a J. Perryman single. An RBI double from senior Madison Zbaraschuk and a Wood RBI single extended the advantage to 8-1 in the fourth.

The Cardinals got one run back in the fifth, but J. Perryman's two-run single in the sixth ended the game on the run rule.

UMSL is scheduled to compete in the Teri Mathis-Zenner Memorial Tournament, hosted by Missouri Southern, in Joplin next Saturday and Sunday.
