LIBERTY, MO. – The No. 3 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team pounded out 13 home runs in two games en route to a doubleheader sweep at William Jewell on Sunday in Great Lakes Valley Conference action, winning by scores of 14-1 and 10-3.
Senior
Katie Wood and freshman
Jennah Perryman each had three home run days as the Tritons outhit the Cardinals, 30-10. Wood now has six home runs in her last six games, while UMSL has 58 homeruns in 28 games this season, four shy of last season's record 62 long balls.
The Tritons, winners of seven straight, improve to 25-3 overall, including 10-2 in the GLVC, while William Jewell slips to 17-10 and 5-7 in the league.
UMSL will close out their current 10-game roadswing on Tuesday with a doubleheader at crosstown rival Maryville. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.

Katie Rutledge and three in the first inning to stake an early 10-0 lead.
Wood led off the scoring with a two-run homer, while Rutledge and sophomore
Alex Stupek each added a three-run shot.
The Cardinals got on the board with an unearned run in the bottom of the first before four solo home runs by the Tritons completed the scoring. Perryman homered in the second inning, while senior
Brianna Butler delivered one in the fourth. Rutledge added her second long ball in the fifth, while senior
Hannah Wessels also tallied one in the fifth.
Junior
Hannah Perryman tossed the complete game one-hitter, while striking out 11. After the first two William Jewell batters reached, via an error and a RBI single, Perryman retired 15 straight to close out the contest.
UMSL recorded 14 hits, including three each from Wessels and Wood. Wessels also scored three runs, while Rutledge finished with four RBIs.

Sara Kern tallying three each. Wood and J. Perryman had two home runs each, while J. Perryman added three RBIs and two runs scored.
William Jewell plated the game's first run, scoring on a solo home run off H. Perryman, who started game two.
However, the Tritons answered with a three-run Wessels home run and a Wood solo home run in the third and followed that with three more home runs, including one from J. Perryman in the fourth and one each from Wood and Stupek in the fifth.
The Cardinals got one run back in the bottom of the fifth before a wild pitch by the home team allowed the Tritons to cross the plate in the sixth for an 8-2 lead. William Jewell scored once in the bottom of the sixth, while J. Perryman delivered a two-run home run in the seventh for the final score.
Senior
Brittni Chapman (13-1) recorded the five-inning win, allowing two runs on six hits, while striking out three. H. Perryman gave up one run on three hits, while striking out three in two innings.
