VIERA, FLA. – Senior
Daniel Seddon delivered a walk off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10
th inning to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team to a 2-1 victory over Northwood on Friday afternoon. The victory moves the Tritons to 3-0.
UMSL recorded 13 hits in the win, but left 12 runners on base. Seddon recorded two hits, while senior
JJ Kinnevan went 3-for-4 at the plate. Senior
Shane Brinker and junior
Dominic Orlando each added two hits.
Northwood plated the game's first run, scoring in the second inning on a fielder's choice, before UMSL knotted the score in the fifth on senior
Dylan Fieth's sacrifice fly.
After leaving the bases loaded to end the ninth inning, junior
Jarret Clark drew a one-out walk and advanced to second on a Brinker single before scampering to third on a wild pitch. The Timberwolves intentionally walked Orlando to load the bases before Seddon's game-winner.
Junior
Kurt McGuire garnered the win in four innings of hitless relief work. He also struck out six and walked just one. Senior
Luke Hayes was nearly as impressive, allowing just one run on four hits, while striking out five.
UMSL returns to action on Sunday in a doubleheader against Northwood.
