Williams Scores For Women's Soccer in 1-1 Tie Against Indianapolis

ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team outshot visiting Indianapolis, 34-7, but found the back of the net just once in a 1-1 double overtime tie on Sunday in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.

Sophomore Baylee Williams notched her first collegiate goal in the 69th minute, scoring from 20 yards out off passes from junior Hannah Kaloupek and freshman Lauren Lottmann to tie the score.

UMSL, which was closing out a three-game homestand, moves to 2-1-2 overall, including 1-1-2 in the GLVC. UIndy is now 1-4-1 and 0-3-1 in the league.

The Greyhounds took advantage of a slow Tritons start, scoring in the 10th minute on a 15-yarder from the right wing that went past an outreached Megan Ohm into the deep left corner.

UMSL would allow just three more Greyhound shot attempts in the half as the Tritons outshot their guests, 11-5 in the first frame. Junior Taylor Tosovsky had two near goals in a span of 50 seconds. Her shot from 25 yards out was halted by a diving Emma Crenshaw, while her free kick on a foul just outside the box hit the crossbar.

UMSL put up 15 shots in the second 45 minutes, including nine on goal, while holding UIndy to just one shot attempt, which was saved by Ohm. The Tritons had a chance to go on top with just under nine minutes to play following a Greyhounds foul in the box, but junior Kayla Delgado's penalty kick was stopped by Crenshaw.

The Tritons then outshot UIndy, 8-1, in the two overtimes. They finished with 15 shots on goal, including Kaloupek's header in the box that went directly into the hands of Crenshaw, who recorded 14 saves. Kaloupek also had a shot with six seconds to play that was just high.

Tosovsky finished with 10 shots, placing three on goal, while Delgado took seven shots, landing six on target.

Ohm played all 110 in goal, tallying five saves.

UMSL returns to action on Friday, traveling to Wisconsin-Parkside in a 1:15 p.m. GLVC contest.
