Women's Soccer Wins at Wisconsin-Parkside Behind Goals From Thomas and McFadden

KENOSHA, WIS. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team scored one goal in each half en route to picking up a 2-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference road victory at Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday afternoon.

The win moves the Tritons to 3-1-2 overall, including 2-1-2 in the GLVC. UW-Parkside slips to 2-4-1 and 1-3-1 in the conference. The victory also marked the program's first over the Rangers since 2006.

UMSL scored with just over five minutes remaining in the opening stanza when senior Kali Thomas notched her second goal of the season with a header on the left side of the box off long cross from fellow senior Laura Hurlbut.

UW-Parkside owned a 10-5 advantage in shots in the first half with senior keeper Megan Ohm registering three saves.

Senior Cassie McFadden made it 2-0 two minutes and 18 seconds into the second half with an unassisted goal, but the Rangers quickly countered with their first goal of the game 47 seconds later with a 30-yard shot to trim the deficit in half.

The goal was McFadden's first of the year and marked the ninth different player to score for UMSL this season.

Ohm finished the contest with four saves. The Tritons took 14 shots, landing six on goal, while the Rangers tallied 14 shots, placing five on target. Junior Taylor Tosovsky had three shots on goal for UMSL, while McFadden and Thomas finished with two shots each.
