WEEKLY REWIND...Women's BasketballThe women's basketball suffered a pair of heartbreaking overtime losses on the road last weekend. The Tritons were edged at Truman State, 78-73, last Thursday and fell short of knocking off No. 18 Quincy, 81-77, last Saturday. Senior Kelly Kukel averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, while redshirt sophomore Jordan Fletcher added 14.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Fletcher scored 21 points at Truman State, in which UMSL rallied back from a 10-point fourth quarter deficit. Kunkel tallied 17 points, including four three-pointers, at Quincy. The Tritons scored six straight in a span of 53 seconds to go ahead at 68-66 with seven seconds to play in regulation before the hosts netted a pair of free throws with four tenths of a second to send the game to overtime.

UMSL (7-10, 2-7 GLVC) opens up a four-game homestand this weekend, hosting William Jewell on Thursday and Rockhurst on Saturday.

Men's BasketballThe Tritons suffered losses five and six by five or fewer points in two road losses last weekend. The Tritons saw Truman State erase a 10-point deficit en route to a 67-62 loss last Thursday night, while Quincy held off UMSL, 94-92, in overtime last Saturday. In that contest, the Tritons rallied from 16 points down, including 14 with just over four minutes to play and forced the extra period when DeAndre Holmes made two of three free throws with half a second remaining. Junior Hunter Reine put together back-to-back career nights, recording 16 points and eight rebounds at Truman State before exploding for 21 points and 15 rebounds at Quincy.
The Tritons (6-12, 0-9 GLVC) are home this weekend in the start of a four-game homestand, hosting William Jewell on Thursday and Rockhurst on Saturday.
