ST. LOUIS, MO. – For the second straight day, the University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team earned a five-set win, this time fending off Missouri S&T as the Tritons picked up the 34-32, 25-21, 18-25, 24-26, 15-13 Great Lakes Valley Conference win on Saturday afternoon.
UMSL improves to 9-4 overall, including 4-2 in the GLVC, while Missouri S&T slips to 5-9 and 2-4 in the league. The win also kept the Tritons perfect at home this season in all four games.

-UMSL trailed 18-10 in the first set before scoring five straight, including two on kills from senior
Lexi Rogers. Freshman
Selena Nolte later used back-to-back kills to tie the score at 20 before giving UMSL a 21-20 lead. The Miners fended off five Triton set points, while UMSL fought off three Miners set points before a solo block by Rogers and then a kill by Rogers ended the frame.
-In the second set, UMSL jumped out to a 13-9 lead, but saw a 6-1 Miners run put the guests on top 15-14. The Tritons followed with a 5-2 run, capped on a service ace by sophomore
Olivia Gillum. Nolte finished with four kills in the frame, while Rogers had two kills in three swings with no errors.

-The Tritons saw Missouri S&T score six straight to end the fourth set and erase a 24-20 lead.
-No team had a lead of more than two in the fifth set. The Tritons went up 11-9 on a kill by Rogers, but saw the Miners use a 4-1 run to pull ahead 13-12. Freshman
Kylie Rudsinski evened the score with a kill at 13-13 to ignite three straight points from UMSL to secure the win.

Madyson Abeyta recorded 30 assists and nine digs, while junior
Danielle Waedekin hit the 30-dig plateau for the second straight night with a season-best 31.

Olivia Gillum served up three aces and added nine digs.
