Kristen Uradzionek recorded a career-high 10 kills, while hitting .714 to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team to a 3-2 victory at crosstown foe Maryville on Tuesday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. The Tritons won by set scores of 20-25, 25-22, 14-25, 25-18, 15-9
UMSL, playing its third straight five-set match, improves to 10-4 overall, including 5-2 in the GLVC, while Maryville falls to 2-14 and 1-6 in the league.
Match Highlights
-Maryville hit .324 in the opening set and outblocked the Tritons, 6-1, while UMSL hit .140. Junior
Danielle Waedekin recorded 10 digs in that frame.
-A Saints attack error gave the Tritons a 20-17 lead in the second set, but Maryville battled back to tie it at 22-22, but a kill from freshman
Morgan Childers helped spark UMSL to the final three points.
-Maryville scored eight unanswered to turn a 10-9 deficit into a 17-10 advantage in the third set.
-UMSL raced out to a 5-1 lead in the fourth set, picking up four straight on Saints errors, while back-to-back service aces from freshman
Kendall Buchman made it 12-6.
-The Tritons ended the match on a 6-1 run.
