RENSSELAER, IND. – Senior
Taylor Tosovsky scored a goal and added two assists to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team to a 3-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory at Saint Joseph's on Sunday afternoon.
The victory was the Tritons' school record ninth in the GLVC, moving UMSL to 9-3 both overall and in the league.
UMSL equaled a season-high 27 shots, landing nine on goal. Tosovsky fired seven shots, placing three on goal, while junior
Baylee Williams finished with four shots.
Williams accounted for the Tritons' second goal of the contest, which came in the 38
th minute. Her first header hit the crossbar, but she got the ball back and headed it in over the keeper. Tosovsky was credited with the assist on the game-winner.
Williams' goal broke a 1-1 tie after the host Pumas scored an equalizer in the 20
th minute following senior
Kayla Delgado's goal in the 15
th minute that gave UMSL a 1-0 lead. Delgado scored off Tosovsky's free kick when the ball was deflected off a Saint Joseph's defender.
Tosovsky netted the insurance goal at the 88 minute mark on a shot from outside box into top right corner off the pass from sophomore
McKayla Harder.
Defensively, the Tritons limited the Pumas to just three shots, with all three landing on goal. Freshman keeper
Emily Rish played all 90 minutes in goal, making two saves.
UMSL will close out its current three-game roadtrip on Friday at No. 10 ranked Truman State.
