SPRINGFIELD, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team scored three goals en route to picking up its third straight win on Sunday afternoon with a 3-1 victory at Drury in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
The Tritons move to 6-2 overall and in the GLVC, while Drury dips to 3-6-1, including 1-6-1 in the league.
Sophomore
McKayla Harder wasted no time getting her team on the board, finding the back of the net just two minutes and three seconds into the contest, striking from eight yards out on the left side off a pass from senior
Miriam Taylor.
Junior
Emily Mosier netted an insurance goal at the 77:18 mark, firing from five yards out from the left center to make it 2-0. That goal would be the first of three scored in the game over the next 91 seconds. Drury avoided the shutout with a goal at 78:23 before freshman
Rose Crabtree rounded out the scoring 16 second s later on a goal from five yards out on the right side off a pass from senior
Kayla Delgado.
UMSL recorded 20 shots, landing eight on goal, while Drury took 10 shots with three on goal. The Tritons also held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. Delgado and fellow senior
Amber Daly tallied three shots each, with one on goal.
Sophomore
McKenzie DeRouen made the start in goal, playing 30 minutes, while freshman
Emily Rish picked up the win in the final 60 minutes, making two saves and allowing the one Panthers goal.
UMSL returns to the field Friday, hosting Lewis at 5 p.m.
