Three Players Tally Double-Doubles as Volleyball Tops Maryville in Home Finale

ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team had three players record a double-double in 25-18, 23-25, 25-14, 25-15 victory over Maryville on Tuesday night in the Tritons' home finale.
 
Senior Gaylnn Jones was one of four players with double digit kills with 11 and added 12 digs, while junior Madyson Abeyta (25 assists, 12 digs) and freshman Kendall Buchman (16 assists, 13 digs) also had a double-double.
 
The Tritons improve to 16-11 overall, including 10-6 in the GLVC, while Maryville slips to 4-25 and 2-14 in the league. UMSL closes its home slate with an 8-2 record, the most wins at home since 2011.
 
Match Highlights
- Senior Lexi Rogers recorded four kills in five swings in the first set and added two blocks as UMSL outblocked the Saints, 4-1.
- The Tritons, which tallied 16 kills to Maryville's 11 in the second set, were hampered by four service errors in that frame.
- UMSL hit .370 in the third set, committing just one attack error.  
- Jones recorded five of her kills in the fourth set, hitting .417, while Buchman and junior Danielle Waedekin had six digs each.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Rogers and freshman Selena Nolte added 11 kills each and recorded six and four blocks, respectively, while freshman Morgan Childers finished with 10 kills and four blocks.
- UMSL outblocked the Saints, 13-6, and hit .214 in the match with 54 kills, while Maryville hit .079 with 42 kills.
- Waedekin tallied 20 digs.
