ST. LOUIS, MO. – Freshman
Carly Kingery tossed a complete game victory in the second contest of a Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader to help the No. 8 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team to a 2-1 win over No. 1 ranked Indianapolis on Sunday afternoon. The visiting Greyhounds rallied for the game-one victory, 3-2.
UMSL moves to 44-5 overall, including 22-4 in the GLVC, while UIndy is now 42-3 and 23-3 in the league.
The Tritons will wrap up the regular season next weekend at Bellarmine on Saturday and at Southern Indiana on Sunday.
GAME 1: UIndy 3, UMSL 2A three-run double by UIndy in the top of the sixth helped the guests secure the win. The Greyhounds broke up
Hannah Perryman's no-hitter in that frame with three hits – the only three surrendered by Perryman in the contest. However, only two of those runs were earned as UMSL committed two of its three errors in the sixth inning.
Junior
Sara Kern gave UMSL a 2-0 lead in the fourth with a two-run home run. Junior
Alex Stupek also came home on the long ball, drawing a two-out walk before stealing second for her 25
th stolen base of the season.
Perryman fell to 38-3 with the loss, recording seven strikeouts and walking two.
UIndy ace Morgan Foley tallied 18 strikeouts, walked two and hit one batter.
GAME 2: UMSL 2, UIndy 1Kingery allowed just one run, which came in the second inning and knotted the game at 1-1. She scattered five hits, allowing only one extra base hit, and struck out six and walked two in the victory.
Stupek provided UMSL with the first lead of the game, scoring senior
Erin Walker, who led off the first inning with a double, on a sacrifice bunt. Walker, who took third on a passed ball, scampered home from third on Stupek's bunt, which was placed down the right field line.

Serena Olson to score from first. Olson reached on a single.
UMSL finished with four hits. Freshman
Reagan Osborn also recorded a double in the contest.
Foley (31-2) tossed her second complete game of the day, striking out eight and walking one.
