EVANSVILLE, IND. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team lost a 10-1 decision at Southern Indiana on Thursday afternoon in non-conference play.
The Tritons (24-17) were out-hit, 11-6, and scored their lone run on senior
JonMichael Weaver's solo home run in the ninth. Weaver finished with two hits, while senior
Dominic Orlando added a double.
UMSL also drew four walks, including two from junior
Jake Beckwith, and left eight men on base. The Tritons were 1-of-13 at the plate with runners on base, including 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position.
Southern Indiana (26-16) avenged an earlier season loss to the Tritons (8-1 in St. Louis) in the win with Sam Griggs doing most of the offensive damage on three hits, including two home runs, and six RBIs.
UMSL will close out the home portion of its schedule this weekend, hosting Missouri S&T in a four-game series on Friday and Saturday. First pitch is at 1 p.m. on Friday.
