Sweep of Walsh Completes a 3-0 Weekend

NASHVILLE, TENN. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball swept Walsh on Saturday morning to close out its play at the Scott Jones Classic, hosted by Trevecca Nazarene. The Tritons went 3-0 on the weekend and improves to 5-2 overall.

Match Highlights
-The Tritons used a 7-1 late run to turn a 17-17 tie into a 24-17 advantage, with five points coming on kills. The Cavaliers (3-3) then scored four straight to pull within24-22 before sophomore Kristen Uradzionek's kill ended the frame. UMSL took the opening set despite hitting .091 with 11 kills to Walsh's .220 with 14 kills, however the Cavaliers committed four service errors, while the Tritons had none.   
-UMSL hit .419 in the second frame, recording 14 kills with just one error. Freshman Amanda Vollmer recorded four kills in six attempts.
-The third set featured 21 ties, while Walsh committed two of its four service errors in the final four points.
 
Inside the Box Score
-Freshman Selena Nolte led the offense with eight kills, while Rudsinski finished with seven and Vollmer with six. In all, UMSL's freshmen accounted for 27 of the team's 37 kills.
-Junior Madyson Abeyta recorded 15 assists and two service aces, while freshman Kendall Buchman added 14 assists.
-Junior Danielle Waedekin tallied 15 digs, while Uradzionek finished with four blocks to help the Tritons to a 7-1 advantage in that category.
